Sedra pump problem

Sedra pump on my ASM G3 is giving me trouble. It is running but not with the usual power. I removed and cleaned it a bit and put it back. Still no good. Any ideas how to fix it?

How do I know if it is only a impeller problem. Also does lfs carry impellers? or should i order in online?

My impeller was pretty bad. It would stop spinning and everything. The rubber ends fell off...it was really bad!! Some LFS do have it, but I found it to be cheaper online. They are about 50 bucks, which is ridiculous!!

There really isn't any way to know if it is the impeller or not. Why do you say it's not as powerful?

The pump is running and pushing water through the gate valve. However it is not powerful enough to push the water above a certain level within the skimmer.

That sounds similar to what happened with mine....The pump would be running...the water would start to raise, but then would stop and not go anywhere.

The magnets on the sedra pumps are known to swell up. I had the same problem on my G3. The magnet was swollen and I replaced it. Everything was fine.

The magnets on the impeller...right?? Because I couldn't figure out a way to open up the pump.

When I opened the magnet/impeller and all, everything looks ok to me. I dont see any visible wear & tear. It is about three year since I bought this. I guess it is about time to replace the impeller anyway.
