OK so two days ago I noticed a bunch of little "eggs" in a squiggly line on the upper part of my tank. Then last night I noticed some more just under my green leather coral which hasn't opened in a few days. Then after th e lights went out I looked in to see OH 150 tiny snails crawling everywhere. Plus this morning I see another track of snail eggs across the top of my leather...this is going to far I like snails and all but am a bit annoyed about laying eggs on the top of the leather coral. So I fished out one of the little guys and it is shaped like either a turbo or more likely my newest member a STAR SNAIL (Astralium Calcar)that I got on the group buy. I never saw any snail laying the eggs but I have seen the star snail in the vicinity of the 3 separate egg trails.
So assuming it is the star snail being a fertile girl. Besides being fish food for my fish what are the dangers of these snails, besides upsetting my leather? Is there anything I should do to try to raise them, does anyone want to try? I am happy that the tank is stable enough for this but it might be a mixed blessing.
I took a picture this morning but I cannot get it posted till tonight.
Any thoughts or if anyone wants to try to fish some out of the tank tonight let me know.
