LETS DO IT - Cole Porter 1928

So, watching the Punk classic (yes, I capped Punk) film 'Tank Girl' (Lori Petty, Naomi Watts, Ice T, Malcolm MCDowell et al).
Watching a scene that was so out of place, but in Tank Girl its perfectly in place, where a den of prostitution is raided and the madame is forced at gunpoint to sing Cole Porter’s ‘Let’s Do It’.
Here’s the scene…

And here’s the cover from the soundtrack, fantastic stuff, punked up by Joan Jett and Paul Westerberg (to some of the animated interludes of the films).

BUT, HERE, HERE is where its at. Ella Fitzgerald, one of the most perfect voices, IMHO (and many others) of all time, to Cole Porter’s original writing (and he's on piano).
If you've never heard Ella F, you really should really sit back, close your eyes, and listen to this lady, theres a reason she's still mentioned, commonly in some circles, 80 years later.
I pray things like this don't die with millenials forward.
BTW, The fish and undersea bits begin around 1:50 with sponges and oysters to keep on reef track…

Drop some stuff, original and revamps, might make a cool thread.

Gotta tell ya. That was the weakest connection to reefing I ever saw. But on the flip side. Ella really knocked that song out of the park. Thanks for re-introducing her to me.
