About 10 days ago I posted a inquiry about new acans not doing well. The general consensus was that since they were new and freshly cut I should give them a little more time to heal and things should turn around. Well they haven't but they have not gotten any worse either. What is strange is that I now have an 4 month old acan now not doing so well but my orange crush acan enchinata is fantastic. I am really perplexed. Mainly because the rest of my tank is outstanding (lps, sps, and leathers)
Here are my water paremeters: PH 8.3, ammonia .10 (don't know why), nitrite 0, nitrate 0, calcium 420 - 460, alkalinity 8 - 9, magnesium 1400. Salinity 1.025, temp. is usually 80.5 - 81.5 depending on time of day.
None of my acans are receding but they do not inflate and this is diving me crazy. I have moved them into the shade hoping this might help them out, but it has not.
I usually spot feed them cyclopeeze / mysis shrimp twice a week but have not tried in about a week. I gave the DT's about 5 days ago and they usually respond fairly well to this but it did nothing.
I also did a 20% water change about 5 days ago hoping that this may wake them up but it did not. After the initial water change they began swelling up a bit but, by the next day they went back to there stagnant state.
Any ideas??? Has anyone ever had something like this before???
