Strange sound

Not sure if this constitutes an emergency, but I wanted immediate feedback. Woke up this morning, sat by tank, everything was fine. Went upstairs and came down thirty minutes later to a strange humming sound coming from overflow area. Sound as if something is trying and not getting enough power. Any suggestions?

+1 skimmer , I get a buzz out of my skimmer every once in a while guess it sucks a little sump critter into its throat.might help to get the vinegar and brush out to clean the pump
