Sump / Skimmer question

On the 75 I just upgraded to the only skimmer I have is a Prizm HOB. I wanted to put it on the sump. Problem is the highest water level in the sump is to low for the skimmer to work. It's a pain to lift the canopy every few days to check or empty the cup. Anyone have ideas on how I can get this in the sump? I am looking for another skimmer I can use but until then, only chioce I have now.

Thanks,
Mark

mark , it sounds like you need an in sump skimmer .try posting in the trade or sale forum and then upgrade with the extra $$$
also with increased water changes you could do with out the skimmer for a while until you get the in sump... hope it helped.....happy reefing ......al

Mark, I tried to do the same thing, I really don't think it works. I even added a another down tube onto it and sealed it...still didn't work. Well, I would get it to work for a few hours..that would be it.

Brian,
I tried that as well with no luck. I mya try adding a brick in the sum and placing the skimmer on top. As long as the collection cup and air hose are above the water it may work.
I definitely need another skimmer.

I may be reading this totally wrong, so forgive me if I am.

Are you going to submerge the the skimmer in water? The motor is on the outside of the skimmer, wouldn't it submerge that as well?
