Tank in same room as fireplace

Just curious how many of you have your tank in the same room as a fireplace, woodburning stove...etc. How close to your source of heat do you have it and how much of a temperature swing does it create?

In my new house if all goes well, I plan on having the tank (or tanks ;D) 20 feet away from the fireplace. The day I looked at the house the current owner had the fireplace which has an insert in it cranking. I could not believe how much heat was coming off of it and it was even throttled down. He claims that he heats the whole house comfortably with it.

Being so far away and having a 100g sump in the basement I'm sure I'll be alright, but it just had me thinking about how tanks react to fireplaces.

My woodstove is in the next room (with no door). I've never seen more than a couple degrees swing, and sometimes we run that room up to 80F if it's really cold out and we want to feel spoiled. The tank provides a natural sorce of hudity which is sorely needed in the bone-dry air that woodburning creates.

I worry more about smoke. We have had some, er, downdraft incidents which filled the room with smoke and made all the corals close up. My new tank has the skimmer with its air intake in the garage, hopefully that will be better. Until I leave the car running. JK, can't get anything bigger than a go cart in there now.
