i am buying a 65 gallon 24" deep. i already have a 250 watt mh and am getting 4 * 95 watt VHO. what kind of bulbs should i get? is it better for the vho to be attinic or to have a 20K mh and 50/50 VHO? what would you do? is this enough light?

It depends what you are trying to achieve, nick. I would get a 10K bulb, 2 actinic blues and 2 50/50's. This setup will give you a very crisp bluish white color and you can step the VHO's so they come on before the halides do, just like a dusk/dawn setup.

If it was my tank, I would go one step further and do a 250 watt 65K bulb instead. It's a very yellow bulb, but you can offset that with 4 actinic blues; but then again I keep light loving sticks :D
