Tank was moved, so far so good!

Last weekend, I moved the 65G from the office (second bedroom, soon to be baby room), out to the living room. Here is a quick recap.

I started by hanging the light where the tank was going.

I put my reef plates and fish in a 20L right next to the tank on the floor:

My main rock structure and some other rocks I put in a brute trash can:

I tried to keep as much water as I could but I had to dump about 20 gallons and only had an extra 6 gallons on stand by. So everything spent the night in the 20L and Brute while I made up some new water. I used the 6 gals I had and made 20 gallons of new SW and pumped the 30 gallons from the Brute back into the tank. I put the main structure and the other rocks in and let them sit in the tank overnight. On day 3, I moved the contents of the 20L over to the tank and put all the fish back in.

And this is my new side view of the tank from where I usually sit in the living room:

You must be happy to have it out of the room safe and sound! The frags you gave me are doing great! The pink lemonade is showing more green on the branching section and the polyps are all out. I was wondering about the name of your rock system? I currently have macro rocks but really like your set up.

I’d congratulate you on the pending kid, but I’ve already had three, so for me I think it’s more sympathy……but congratulations on the tank staying within the confines of the house. You’re lucky the boss didn’t have you move that tank right out the door. :p

The rock work looks fantastic from the side. I really like that tunnel…..looks good. And it sounds like you didn’t have any losses from the move.

Now get back to those lamaze classes and practicing changing diapers and getting no sleep. :hypnotysed:

Glad the frags are happy.

The rocks are by a company called Aquaroche, and if you check out the site there are some really nice tanks all done with this ceramic rock. Only problem with it is, there is only one distributor in the entire U.S. and they are located down in South Carolina.

Looking good Brian. I like the tunnel too!

I'll probably be visiting my in-laws down in SC in the next month or so. If its not too far away, maybe I'll check that place out.

Group buy with free shipping VIA TanksNStuff! LOL Just kidding

If I do end up going, I'll let everyone know and be happy to take some back to Jersey for members. I didn't even check the map yet so it might be too far off the travel route. But if not I'll start a new post about it.

I'm not sure if Aquarium Specialty has a store front or if they are online only.

Their address is:
535 Clemson Rd # D - Columbia, SC 29229

They are running low on Aquaroche right now and when they order from France, they order an entire cargo container of the rock from them. I should call them and see if they placed a new order for stock yet.
