Test Kit Suggestions

I have been using the Seachem MultiTest Marine Basic and I would like to upgrade to a better testing regiment. My question is, what tests should I really be doing and what brand would our members recommend? And it would be helpful if you recommended a web site that has good prices for the same.
Thanks Greg

I'd say go with Salifort, I'v used them for years with no problem.

Also, I test for calcium, magnesium,kh on a monthly schedual then once in a while i'll test nitrate, strontium when I feel like it.

And don'tforget to test your salt at least once from each new bucket to ensure the perameters are good... if not make adjustments before waterchanges.

I have salifert and lamotte. Last time I did a water check was in November because they are both a pain in the butt, but are extremely accurate. Lamotte is genereally more expensive but is definitely a notch better than the salifert kits (I have both of the same)

I think lamotte kits are laboratory grade, used for other things other than just our tanks I believe, hence the cost factor.

I keep mainly SPS, so I check whenever I see something "funny" in the tank: Calcium, dKH and magnesium (still need to buy kit)

Tank's been going for a while, but from time to time (yeah right :) ) I check the regulars: NH3, NO2, NO3, pH
