Woke up and looked at my email, apparently someone in NC got into my walmart account and attempted to order 3 laptops with my info, i'm glad that walmart did a double check on it and cancelled the order, just pisses me off. I have the address it was supposed to be sent to, wondering if i can even do anything with it at this point, maybe mail a pound of dog logs to the address? I've also had my bank card taken a few times at this point, once someone in TX attempted to buy some random things from online walmart and ralph lauren, was caught before it was mailed. Second, someone in some other country attempted to use my card number to go on a safari... Person called me and asked if i ordered a safari, it was early in the morning, but i was awake enough to know i hadn't left the country in a while... I love online banking, i just hate people like this.

Also, about a month ago my sons minecraft account was hijacked and he can no longer play it on the PC. I sent an email to the company with no response. I'm generally a nice easy going guy but i'm really hoping this guy gets robbed one day or meets bubba in a jail cell...

I had a person in the UK spend $1,100 at a camera shop put it on my cc like it was his

I sure hope he got something nice

Yup,

I have had both business and personal credit card info stolen 5x in the last year. I got caught up in that Bulk Reef Supply credit hack. They used it to buy airline tickets and a few other things.

7 am phone rings and it's my bank calling me in NJ asking if I made debit transaction at 1 am in Africa. I respond no and they instruct me to go to the bank and get another debit card and I do. 2 days later I get another call asking the same question and I explain I already went through this and they send me to the bank again. When I tell them at the bank who I am they call Corporate Security(or whatever they called it) and they explain to me that whoever was making the charges did not have my PIN number but actually gained control of my account and that they would have to close my account and open a new one. It made me a little nervous to say the least.

They key is strong passwords, being aware of your surroundings and staying on top of your accounts.

I am lcky enough to never have had this happen to me.....yet.

Once piece of advice I have is, NEVER use your debit card online. Always use a Credit Card. If possible use a separate entity like PayPal. I have been using PayPal everywhere it is accepted lately.

It's not just on-line. We are on our third credit card change this year. Our most recent purchase was a $180 book about the anatomy of a cat, where the credit card company knew where it was shipped.....someone in North Jersey. They seemed nonchalant about going after this person.

However, the one that got me was the over $2000 spent in Sam's Club.....in Princeton. We are members of Sam's, and I simply asked the question on how they could have made the purchases without our member's card...which I still had in my wallet. I can't buy spit in Sam's without showing my member's card. So how did this person do it???

I get tagged at frag swaps now because when each vendor swipes it, it hits up to their address. So if I hit a Texas vendor, then Florida and then Maryland my company sets off a fraud alert. I then have to call and explain where I am. It works out.
