hey guys!!!

havent been around for awhile, havent really kept up with the changes in the hobby, any help in that dept is appreciated.

im thinking of getting back into the hobby.

i need to buy some equipment though, anyone have anything they wanna get rid of cheap?

i still have the 180 so its all i have, any suggestions as to what i need to get ( i know what i need, but dont have an idea of what brands are better anymore.

for now, itll be a fowlr, but im sure the bug will bite me again, and itll be a full blown reef sooner or later.

im not a member anymore here, but once i get the equipment, im gonna re join.

Hey Jerry! Welcome back!

Not much has changed in a year. Lights are lights, skimmers are skimmers and as always, it all depends on how much you want to spend. We still do our quarterly Premium Aquatics group buys so that helps on the budget. But of course, you have to be a member to participate in that.

Welcome back Jerry! Good to see you getting back in. Rich's right (did I just say that out loud?! LOL), there have't been very many ground breaking advancements.

I'm actually surprised that Rich didn't mention Vortechs, though. I'm not sure if they were out before you ducked out or not, but they're a tunze alternative and a cool concept.

correct me if im wrong, but are the vortexs (sp) the ones that have the motor on the back of the glass, and the impeller on the inside opposite the motor??

im not sure if im gettin back in, but my 180 i have has had 2 gold fish in it for a year, so its kinda boring.

Why did you leave? I know I left because I got tired of wasting money on expensive fish! Now I have a 125 with two clowns and two yellow tangs. I got tired of loosing PBT and Large Angels.
