This is so true. Our daughter and son-in-law are moving back to NJ after being in Germany for 3 years. They were hoping to buy in NJ near McGuire AFB, but the pricing is absolutely crazy right now. Their realtor told them to A. be prepared to make a decision immediately, B. Be prepared to pay over asking price, and C. Have 20-50% to put down. Insane!!
We're really just trying to get a feel for the area. We are tentatively planning to move this time next year but if we find the perfect house now we may jump. I agree on house values, we we will selling at an overvalued price too so it's a wash. Bigger problem is houses selling in a day an no inventory.
You can't sell if I'm moving down there unless you're staying local. Need 4 bedrooms and a large 2 car garage, in ground pool or room for one.
