Hey guys with the elections around the corner and a good turn out this year for all positions it looks like we are going to have some great participation for the rest of this year and into next year.
This will be my first year running for a position (director at large south), and since all positions of competition I feel the need to talk about why I feel your vote for me would make a diffrence for our club and what I would like to contribute. I've seen a lot of people running for spots and other then a few people saying they would back that person to run for the spot I have not seen any explanation as to why they would be good for those positions. So as a member I wouldn't know who to vote for And I figure that would go the same for my self as a candidate for the position I am running for.
So to start my name is Jeremy though some call me "Doc" on the fact I was a Navy corpsman that served with the marines over seas, I came to this hobby because I had a long standing passion for marine biology an kept many fresh water tanks as a kid but always wantes to run a salt water tank, when I was in high school I took college level Marine Bio and then followed up with elective marine bio in college that only further fueled my desire to get a salt water tank.
A few years back I got married and had a kid, the tank wasn't in the budget then but I kept on the wife until she finally said I could start a small tank and that was a 10 gallon nano I had the nano tank going strong and proved to her that the hobby just wasnt a passing phase but a insane obsession/love for all things saltwater.
since the 10 I moved to a 40 gallon, then a 55 gallon, then a 72 gallon, and finally a 90 gallon. With each tank I challenged my self I progressing further in the hobby and learning new skills from the basics to the advanced level stuff running tanks as simple as a a filter and a light to tanks with sump s refugiums auto dosers and reactors.. I haven't mastered anything but what I can say is I wouldnt have been as successful or lucky if it hadnt been for this club. The members here have guided me and helped me threw some of the hard times of being a reef keeper and lent a hand when I was in meed, a lot of my equipment was at one time another members and when I bought my own it went on to be another members some of it having had 3 to 4 Diffrent owners all from this club.
This club is great I want to keep it that way I want to make it better and get us back to full swing like we see in some of the older posts about club activities.
To do this I need your help and ask for your vote so together we can keep this club going strong and do new things and continue the old things
Vote for me for director at large south and together we will better our club
