Water from Feng?

Hi Guys... I need your advise... Feng sells both RO/DI water and Salt Water (premixed). Anyone who buys water from him.. can you give me an idea as to if you buy it premixed with salt or just plain RO/DI water? What is the quality of his water?

The salt water he sells comes out of his big L tank. I know people that use it and they have no problems. I just find it odd that people would buy "used" water to add to their tank in a water change. Just doesn't make sense to me.

One of the first things you should get is your own RO/DI unit if you can hook one up somewhere.

I've bought both from him before and I agree why would one buy water that grew his coral? Would you reused the water you just changed out of your tank? I would test his saltwater for phosphate, calc, alk, and mag. I'm pretty sure it will be pretty low since his big tank is also connected to his sps frag tank next to it. Invest in rodi it's the best to just have water always on hand instead of having to drive there everytime you need top off.

Some stores sell the rodi for top off and salt water (new) for water changes.

ya buying your own RODI unit pays for itself in no time... When I first started I used to drive 45 minutes to Tropiquarium just for water.... When you factor in the cost of fuel from all those trips as well as the cost of the water itself, you realize how much more sense it makes to just spend a couple hundred on your own unit....Also you know what your getting.. Stores are running hundreds and hundreds of gallons through there unit every couple weeks... For all you know the filters are completely exhausted and ur basically getting tap water... The money spent on an RODI buys you peace of mind...

Thanks everyone for your feedback... now this becomes an equipment question... what is a good RO DI unit? I am seeing some with 3 stage and some with 5 stage?? Is $150 a good price for a unit?
