We need a picture of the month contest

we really have a lot of amazing photographers in the group and i think it would be awesome to have a picture of the month contest to show off their tallent.

I think this is a great idea, though I think the same photographer should not be allowed to win twice in a row. Otherwise Merv would be up there every month. ;D

We have actually talked about this, When we finally get the new website up and running we will have an area that has picture of the month. Right now, we are still in the process of upgrading. Hopefully we will have the new site up and running soon!

Oh yeah, Merv isn't allowed to compete! ;D ;)

It's basically going to be a total makeover. I dont want to give away anything before it happens (which may be a little while yet)

I don't really have a formal photography training background, but was taught by one by word and practice. I would be more than happy to show you guys the basic of taking photography, some tips and tricks I use and what NOT to do when taking pics. If you have a DSLR, we can go even further...

and no, I don't expect to participtae in the contest.

60mm macro lens

55-200 mm zoom

standard 18-70mm ED lens


was going to get one VR lens and the 100mm macro, but at $1350+ for the VR and $600+ for the macro, I backed out at the last minute. maybe this holiday :)

My camera is onle the D70, but am now saving up for the D200

I'd love to learn a bit more regarding taking good pictures. A pointer to a good but cheap Macro lens would be nice too ;D

Maybe we send Merv from tank to tank to take pictures and then we can vote on best pic all supplied by Merv ;D
