Does anyone know where I can buy weld-on 4 and 16 in Jersey. I'm building a sump out of 1/4 acrylic and would rather buy it locally (Mercer and Burlington county preferred but don't mind driving) Thanks!
I wanted to take a stab at making a larger sump and refugium on my own. I was given a large sheet of 1/4 acrylic for free and wanted to give it a try. So far I have bent the bottom and two sides and have everything else cut and ready to assemble. I already have an amiracle MR-300 and know I can build something better so I really have nothing to lose. I may regret that statement if the darn thing breaks loose and floods my new basement, hopefully that wont happen.
I placed the acrylic on a table and heated the edge of it with a really good heatgun and slowly bent the side. The radius came out pretty good and both sides are square. One radius is slightly larger than the other but for a first timer it looks pretty good. The acrylic did not burn at all, but I did take my time doing it rather than burning the heck out of it with high heat. The sump design is very basic an input on the far right containing my skimmer, then a bubble trap leading to my refugium and another baffle with finger grooves at the top which then leads to my return. The sump is at my office right now so I'll try to post pics when I can. Thanks for the help Rich and by the way, what type of adhesive do you use?
