They have charged a 15 and 17 yr old with the abduction/murder (motive may be simply because they wanted to steal her bike!)

As a father of two girls - when I read stuff like this - it just drives me crazy. I mean we all know this kind of stuff *could* happen at any time or any place. But we presume it to be associated to a crazy person or repeat offender. Not some 15 and 17 yr old brothers who live in the same town.

Rough day at work but reading this puts everything into perspective. Words obviously do not adequately express my sadness for the family.

Phil, I’m at a loss for this one as well. And the 15 and 17 year old knew that 12 year old girl as well. I just don’t understand kids today. I’m at a loss. I sympathize with the little girl’s family as well as the family of the two kids who killed this poor little girl. What a pity for both families. Three kids lost!

My son loves to play in the woods behind my house. My wife is always on me for letting him. I've been telling her "he's a boy, that's what they do". She came home two nights ago and told me about this. I'm def rethinking my stance here.

I was in Las Vegas last week and the news on TV was about 2 punk kids (11 and 12) who we're walking around their apartment complex breaking windows when they came upon a cat giving birth. The 2 savages stoned both the cat and the kittens to death! You can try to keep try your kids safe but the danger comes in all sizes. We have to teach our kids to be more aware of their surroundings and question even other kids motives. It's just a sign of parents not parenting their kids and teaching them good morals. These are the same people who lay the blame on society for their childrens actions and take no ownership of the problem.

As i remembered correctly in Nam, a blood is for a blood. If minor, the parents will go to jail until the minor is old enough to go to jail. Or stand trial. No excuse of i don't know. 15 and 17 years old knew what right and what wrong. Evevt 10 year old knew that.

Just to close to home. My kids are adults now. And I still make them call me when they go out and when they get there and when they leave and when they get home. And when they dont answer there phones it drives me crazy.
To many crazy people out there.

Terrible story. I was in middle school when Eddie Warner was murdered in Jackson we were the same age. That was also by a 17 yr old I believe. It's crazy that kids can't even be safe with other kids
