Right now in my AC 110/500 I just have a sponge and ceramic rings.. I was thinking of removing the ceramic rings and adding a different media.. What do you use?

What type of Media do you use in your Mechanical Filter ?

My first choice is to get rid of the mechanical filter all together.
If you do keep it, I’d get rid of the sponges. Unless you are cleaning them with get frequency, they just trap stuff. Let the biology in the tank/sump/refugium “eat” this stuff and get rid of it.

I was thinking the same thing.. I was told by the guy who i got the tank from that sponge and ceramic was the way to go :-[.. After seeing Rods AC110 Mod I think i would go that way
And talking about trapping stuff I was wondering why my PO4 was at 0.5 and 0.25 all the time and was thinking it was my Media
