What's the best way to add more live sand?

Hello guys,

I want to add more live sand to my already establish tank. I would be adding this to the refugium area, now what's the best way I could do this? should I have to cure it first? or add little at the time and keep an eye on the water parameters.

Where are you getting the sand from? Is it prepackaged stuff, like CaribSea, or is it sand your getting from a fellow reefers tank?
