Whats this growing on my live rock?

It almost looks like a bunch of small feather dusters but they are something else and spreading on my rocks and even some on my sand... Anyone know what it could be or how to get rid of it?
Thanks in advance!

Add one more sponge ID. If you don't care for the look of them in your display, try moving some into your refugium if you have one. They do wonders for water quality. Some species are adversely affected when exposed to air, so just keep them submerged if you decide to move some. Some people aren't fans of sponges because if you have sudden swings in prameters or loss of water quality, they won't hold up well, and dying sponges will prolong or worsen the problem. I look at them more as the "Canary in a Coal Mine".
