Where to keep my fish?

I am moving to a new home sometime in a few months, as the one we have now is going up for sale. I do not think I am going to be setting up the new tank yet, and I'm not too sure how to move the livestock and 55g over to the new residence, any input would be great. New house is 20 Minutes away driving. I only have like 5-6 Pieces of coral, and 4 fish. 45lbs of live rock...any help would be great.

It is fairly easy. Just get some of the rubbermaid containers. One or more for the rock, one for the fish. If you need to keep the fish in it for a while just put a powerhead in it to break the surface of the water and a heater.

Make up some new saltwater ahead of time, too. No matter how much you try to keep the existing water, you are going to lose some. Plus, it will serve as a water change because you will be stiring up a bunch of "junk" in the tank.

Be careful which rubbermaid totes you get too. They have a tendancy to buckle under the load. If you think 1 will hold your rock, split it up over 2 or more.

I used one of those bettery powered air stone pumps you can get at petsmart or wherever in the "fish bucket" for the drive and the wait time for me to get the tank back together and feel comfortable enough to put them back in the tank.

One thing I learned in the move, if you think it will take "X" amount of time to complete the move, double it! LOL!

I moved my setup using 5 gallon buckets and the large Brute container. Put the fish in 1 bucket with power head and heater and use the brute for the rock and 5 gallon buckets for water and sand. You can get 5 gallon buckets at home depot with lids. This will help keep most of the water in the bucket while transporting. You should fill up the 5 gallon bucket where the fish are going to go with water from the tank before you start moving rock around. If you have fish that are hard to get, by the time you remove all the rock to get the fish, the water will be mucky. Also, the more help the better.
