there is a thread on R2R comparing various bacteria in a bottle, Fritz came out on top but Dr. Tims/Biospira also worked. IME, I have used both Dr. Tims and Biospira and they worked well, however just make sure to get a fairly recent production bottle.

I’ve had a lot of success with biospira recently in my QT tanks. Having said that, I used prodibio, dr Tim’s and atm colony to start my new display.

Figured more diversity is a good thing.

yah most likely going with biospira first im going to get my dry rock and make my sand scape glue it all down so its one solid piece drill bunch of small frag holes than add my live sand, insert the rockscape, rodi water, let tank sit about a week add bunch of little cheap fish to get the tank rolling after that ill get some plugs and slowly remove things from my old tank into this one only thing i need to get is a timer for the lights cause its a older biocube with t5s

Have started several tanks with Dr. Tims and am happy with it. Just make sure you add it and your fish pretty close together (within a day or two) because once you add the bacteria you need to feed it too.

I advise to also to turn off your skimmer until your tank needs it ~ with the tank empty, you'll only be skimming out the bacteria and trace elements
