Which is a better tank?

Not all Oceanic's are starphire glass. I think only the Tech tanks? The down side to the Oceanic is definitely the center brace. We've always had a center bracing of some sort, but I'd imagine that once you go Euro you never go back. You get a bit of a shadow from that center brace, but it isn't enough to notice unless you're really looking for it.

The Tech Tanks and the Ultimate series both have Starphire front panels. I don't know if I'd do another open top tank. I had to put a screen on top of it to keep my fish from jumping.

Oceanic is sapose to be the best non custom tank they make. When I was shopping for a tank i took a 50 gallon All Glass and compared it to a 50 gallon Oceanic and a 50 Gallon Perfecto and the Oceanic was the heaviest by far. Thinker glass and better made was what I was told. Only issue for me was the fact that they don't make a 265.

I just bought a brand new oceanic ultimate 215, and i also have an AGA, hands down my oceanic is a much better tank. My AGA is a nice tank too but definately not better then the oceanic, JMO

I have a 75 gal Oceanic for 15 years w/o problems. :D

Converted from African Chiclids to Salt 4 years ago.

Only reason I am selling it is that my lovely spouse gave me a 90 gal RR for Christmas. ;D

Is the 90 Oceanic????? ;)

central pet bought the companies out. they make products like heaters and power filters under the brand name aqueon. oceanic will only be starphire glass now (ultimate series and tech series) and will continue to be their higher end, and all-glass will be the non starphire tanks. the regular oceanics may continue to be available until inventory runs out.

Oceanic had some problems with the build quality and QC on the Tech Tanks in the beginning. They were moving them off of the line too fast and the glass was not seated right. Some were made with Starphire front and side panels, some with just the fronts. That caused confusion with buyers. They hit some speed bumps with the merger of the 2 companies. From what I've heard it's all been worked out.
