Who's going to Macna XX in Georgia?

I want to register. But first I wanna see who's going and what hotel your staying in so I can book close to some friends.

Also if you have flight information like dates, airline, and which airport. I think i'm going alone so I'd like to at least be around some people i know.

We're definites. We haven't booked yet but I'm sure we're going to try to get into the Westin Peachtree Plaza.

I looked at that too. It's the closest hotel.Orbitz.com has the flight and hotel for $1650 per person give or take a few bucks. I was wondering what I should set my flight up for.

Depart Newark for 8:00am arive ATL 10:30 on Friday Sept 5th

Depart ATL at 5:30pm arive Newark 8:00pm on Sunday Sept 7th

Does that sound right? Should I go the day before and stay the day after?

We'll be looking at getting a bus or large van. Will be way cheaper but a longer ride.

Peter and I are interested in going, but I think the total cost is going to be a deal breaker (Unless this bus idea takes off).

Mike, I think you want to register for the hotel through MACNA. They should have negotiated a special room rate that you won't get through any online travel agency. Going through MACNA also helps ARC keep track of (and get credit for) all of the room nights they book.

That is crazy expensive for ATL for a weekend. Keep looking around. Not long ago the flights were $200 and change. You may want to wait until all of the chaos with the FAA grounding flights is over.

I agree it's a little high.

I looked at the flights and it's $260 give or take.

I guess the hotel is what's expensive on Orbitz. I'll check the macna site and see how much it is through them... maybe i'll have to book the flight and hotel seperate.

According to the Macna site, it says $119 per night in the WestinPeachTree Hotel.

$119x3nights+Flight$260= $617

$617 isn't bad... It's alot better than $1650

We'll be renting one (or two?) 12-passenger van to go down there (for as many as we get who are committed to going). We'll need to figure out how to keep count of the committed v. maybes to make sure that we're not booking transportation for folks who are not definitely planning on being in Atlanta.

The plan is to leave on Thursday early in the day and come back late on Sunday driving into Monday.

The bus companies want to send you on a 50 person bus with two drivers that you need to provide lodging for with a price tag of 7000. We'll be driving ourselves!
