Nice find! Someone is eating well tonight.

Bob, have you ever tried growing this in your sump?

Hi Paul,

My fish went through one of those cups in half of an hour...

I put a clump in my 120g algae tank 3 weeks ago - but I think it is being overtaken by Hair Algae. Maybe an issue of too much light. I've got a lot of Chaeto, but it too has become overtaken with Hair Algae. The current light is an eBay 150 watt(?) LED plant light.

I was successfully culturing Gracilaria a few years back. My biggest haul was 3.5 pounds of the stuff. I took it to a North Jersey LFS and got a portion of black worms in trade. I won't make that mistake again... Unfortunately I don't remember the particular parameters of the 120g setup I had at the time.

The 120 currently houses Cheato (and Hair Algae). I had usually been running 6 to 8 ppm Nitrates . When I started up the current Chaeto filter I was out of nitrate test reagents, and wasn't in much of a hurry to buy more. As fate would have it, I was also assembling parts for a monster Algae Turf Scrubber in the interim. Then I got the reagents and a new Giesemann nitrate test kit. My nitrates measured 2 ppm on my photometer, and .5 ppm with the Giesemann. Now I'm nervous about building my monster ATS - I don't want to go to an ultra low nutrient system...

So it goes,
Bob
