How often do you empty the skimmer cup?

Quick correction, it's a ping pong ball. There are DIY threads all over the net on how to build them. I can go down and take a closer look at mine if you want anymore details.

    Burning in your T5's

It takes a couple of hours of them being on for them to reach their long term color spectrum. For example, they may look a little too white when you first fire them up but after they burn for a while they take on a more bluish hue. That's their "true" color and how they should look for about a...

    March meeting thanks!!!!!!

Great meeting, Rod. Thanks a lot for hosting it. It's always cool seeing the familiar faces and meeting new reefers. The food was great (mmmmmm . . . . jerk pork and lasagna . . . .) and the drinks were flowing, what else could you ask for! See you all in April.

What's going on with my Candy Cane?

What kind of flow is it in? Since everything else seems to be in check, maybe it's getting too much/too little flow. Just a thought. Good luck with it.

That's Feng. He really is a great guy and runs a very nice store. He's got a good selection and riduclously good pricing. I agree, it's a long drive but certainly worth the trip.

    Login Issues to the site?

I'm using IE 8 and don't have any trouble with logging in. I do have trouble typing a long post, though. After so many lines, something strange happens and I can't see the line I'm typing. It's below the bottom of the reply box. If I scroll down to it, it just drops out of site as soon as I...

    Help

Another thing you can do with your drain line is have it end with a 90* elbow right at the water line so that half the fitting is below the surface. This lets the water drain easily and pretty much eliminates the "toilet flushing" effect.

    New Pics of the 125

Very nice tank and pics. I like the aquascaping and the ultra clean look of the back glass. I hope you can maintain that clean glass because it really looks great.

Adding a little sand to established Aquarium

A nice way to add sand to an existing system is to pour it through a length of 2" pvc pipe. Cut the pipe a little longer than the height of your tank and just add it in slowly. You can target the areas you want and it keeps the sandstorm down to a minimum.
