Mike yes it is. The skimmer body has 3 separate needle wheel pumps chopping the water which makes for an incredibly fine bubble. The pumps are made in Italy and are a whopping 17 watts each. :)

Here is my monster Skimz, with 3 circulation pumps chopping the bubbles this thing pulls out some insane skimmate!! It's not built like a BK, but for $2000 less I don't need it built like a BK, as it performs much better which is all I care about...

I ran a dual Beckett MRC on my system years ago and don't miss that piece of crap one bit!!!! Tons of electricity to run, maintenance and it always used to "blow up" and flood my fish room!! Enough said. I love my new Skimz more than my old bubble king!

Nope. I brought back a ton of coral last year and it was all in a styro box and checked luggage. Bringing it on the plane and thru security is a different story, but I have done that before too. There is always somebody selling those styro boxes at the show too. I think I paid $10 for the one...
