Aquatic obsession is still open. I was there about a week or 2 ago. They just have different hours because of covid.
That said, I would now only strictly buy from Aquarium Care center and Reefco because they start treatment in their tanks and have always been straight forward with me. I...
My Duncan has been super hardy and probably my fastest growing coral. I have had my nitrates at more than 60 at one point and now it's at 1.5 and still just as healthy. Flow or no flow. Exactly under the light or off with something shading it.
Temp is steady at 79 degrees. The tank they were in before stayed steady at 81.
Salinity at 1.025 (both tanks)
Ph: 8.2 (both tanks)
Ammonia: 0 (used 30 lbs of established live rock from the tank they were in + 30 lbs of dry rock + a big bottle of Dr Tims. Testing every other day)
Nitrite: 0...
Well I switched everything over to new tank on friday, by sunday my foxface looked horrible and was hiding. Saw a few spots but it was so little I couldn't see clearly. It looked like sand on its fins but you could count on one hand.(dealt with ich in freshwater once so I kinda knew what to look...
A good fix for the future is to put some sort of thin mesh around the pump. Something that won't restrict flow but will stop anything from getting into the pumpsLike a stocking or something like that. I have some mesh that I used for my lid left over if you want me to cut you a piece. I bought...
Ok so I posted about losing my foxface after a tank upgrade. I saw like a handful of spots I figured it was ich. Then I saw a few spots on my flasher Wrasse. I started feeding heavier than normal until I could get what I needed to QT and treat and now there are no spots. On any of my fish. It's...
So whoever has been following my build thread, I've been on the process of upgrading tanks. Well, I finally transferred all the livestock to the new tank, but I guess in doing so, my baby foxface developed ich. I noticed it last night (they've been hiding since the move on Sunday so it was my...
Paulie, heat up water, put them in bottles and float them if you need to keep the tank warm. If you need to cool it, freeze water bottles. Use a cup and scoop water to break surface movement every few minutes for agitation to add O2 (or go buy a bubbler)
There was a thread where someone posted their diy food recipe. Can't seem to find it. But anyone make their own food and wanna share what and how they do it?
And how often do you feed it.
I also want to add copepods to the new tank before I add the fish (I have wrasses and want the pods to be able to settle before they get destroyed lol). But idk if It would work without a refugium?
If not, what's the best way to adding a refugium? Can I do it with the tank being so new? Or would...
I'm at the point where I need to start moving things over. I do have new rock along with all my established rock from my old tank that I'll be switching over. I am nervous I'm gonna lose fish or coral though. So I'm procrastinating doing it. I did buy some Dr Tims one and only along with...
