yes, i have that crazy hair algae problem before, and i did few big water change 40% every 2 weeks for about 2 months, and it was fixed!

in the mean time, keep switching your MH from left to right...etc. until you found one. ::)

you can put a filter sock some where to trap the scraped off algae (if possible).

my latest plan on my tank is: - stir the 2" sands in the display tank once in a while - do not stir the 3" sands in my refugium (very very fine sands) :)

may be you should take a picture, then post it on the web. BUT not telling anyone where is this pet store, and instead tell the walmart cust setvices to see the pics themselves, and tell them next time the walmart name will be imprinted along with the pics if the situation did not improved. ::)

oh, one more thing, i don't really specially feed them... they some how find its way to right under my auto feeder, and eat the flake food that was sink down.

my tank mostly is around 76. excpet those special hot day, it may jump to 82. (Wife keept turning off A/C when no one home!!!)

not too sure which you want to clean? the inside of the overflow? or the tank? anyway, for the inside of overflow, block all outlets, fill it up with vinegar (diluted with water), then put a maxi-jet in it, let it run for may be half a day or so, then rinse them... i have a wet/dry vacuum that...

Scott, not sure your noticed, when i say magic water, i am just kidding around with it. ;D i am just referring - if you used a good source of already established tank water and live-rocks, your startup cycle with be shorter, that's all. :P [edit] in my own opinions.

i got that same error last night... i over come it with this: - go in the "General Discussion" forum - click on any other thread that "near" to the thread that you want to see - then use the Previous (or next) link on the top, it will then get in to the thread successfully without problem...

like Phyl mentioned, IF you have live-rocks from a good condition tank with Feng's magic water, the cycle should be much much faster. :P

his customer know the water was from his display tank, they are draining the water from the sump to the bucket right there, and sometime water was draw from his frag tank. ::) [edit] oh, and yes i will still cycle my new tank if i get water from him just on the safe side.
