Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It coming along really nicely.
One word of caution, we've had two of those 1000w WON Brothers heaters fail. In both cases, the sensor was saying that the tank temp was around 120*. That caused the heater to stay off making the real temp a bit low. I'm pretty sure I've heard a few others say...
Oh boy, why do I have the feeling that one of these is already on the way to my house!
{Mental Note: Figure out a way to block the B&H website on Phyl's computer . . . .}
I just wanted to pass this along. There is a pretty cool site out there called Mr Rebates that can save you some money on things you buy from LiveAquaria and Foster&Smith. The site is very easy navigate and registration is free. The way it works is that they have a list of online retailers that...
We seem to start from scratch once every 8 months! ;D
It's taken us a while to get our total system, where we want it. Thinking back, I'm not sure that I'd change too much, other than to have gone with the biggest tank I could right from the start. I saw a funny signature that was something to...
You're going to want to leave the recirc pump on all of the time, so that doesn't need to go through the ACJr.
As for the effluent, we made a small "cup" that holds the pH probe and the effluent line. It's a pretty simple design. I took about a 4" piece of 1.25" PVC and glued an end cap on it...
We're glad everyone could make it. We always enjoy haning out with our reefing family. You left us with way too many leftovers, though! We're not gonna have to cook for a week.
Mike, the stock tank is our main frag tank at this point. It's got a layer of egg crate about 6" below the water line and has most of our "extra" corals in it. It's also the tank where we hold club donations prior to raffling them off. We have the 125g Frag tank too but that's only got VHO's...
Are you able to set and maintain a consistent effluent flow with that air pocket? We have the same thing in ours and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. We're able to set the flow to the rate we want and it pretty much stays there. I have no idea what causes the air pocket but it doesn't...
Wow, that's awful. I gotta imagine that if your experience is consistent with their level of quality and service, you won't need to worry about ordering from them for too much longer.
If it's not a breach of confidence can you please provide the name, rank and serial number of your insurgent? I'm not familiar with that branch of the service.
