Air in CR-2 Feed Line

I have a CR-2 Calcium Reator. Lately I've noticed air in the line that feeds the reactor. You can see the air pocket here just as it enters the fitting on the recirc. pump inlet:

This line is feed off of the discharge line of the pump I use for my MR-2 Skimmer. As shown here, it's the tube that comes off of the valve with the blue handle at the very top of the pump discharge piping:

The pump I use is a Reeflo Marlin. I don't know why I'm getting this air pocket in that line. I'm afraid that water is not getting to the reactor the way it should. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Are you able to set and maintain a consistent effluent flow with that air pocket? We have the same thing in ours and it doesn't seem to be an issue at all. We're able to set the flow to the rate we want and it pretty much stays there. I have no idea what causes the air pocket but it doesn't appear to have an effect. We use a very low inflow rate to keep the pressure down in the reactor, so maybe that's what causes it.

Not exactly. I'll set the effluent flow to the drip rate I want. It will stay that way for a while, like several days and then I'll notice that it stops. I have to open up the effluent valve all the way to purge out air then it will be ok for a while. I hate doing that though and it can be good. Maybe it's the CO2 getting in the line. I don't know. I sent an email to MRC. Hopefully they'll respond.
