Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Dropped in tonight. Looks nice.
There's a new compact frag system thats pretty cool. Keeps 100+ under blues and easy to see.
They've sold a lot since the system came in and are replenishing it this week.
I picked up the Iron Man Favia in slot 8 for $35, its a good sized frag encrusting over the...
I actually have the medium version of that on a 40b right now, it works quite well. Nice to see they're including the bit now.
The only concern I had was that the inside surface skimmer piece sits low in the tank (40b) so that the waterline is clearly visible 1" or so below the tank rim. I...
I ordered a kit from glassholes. They've got a great reputation, the builds are solid, and they include everything you need, including the drillbit.
I've also used Eshopps, which I had to buy the drillbit for, but it did come with a number of mounting options and a hole cutting guide that worked...
Del,
Congratulations to your wife! Hopefully she'll let you choose a fish. :)
Lemme know when you need a hand, I'll be there if available.
ACC,
Speakers were interesting, prices were ridiculous, food was great, auction items were groovie and abundant.
Also have to say that renting next door was...
Les get some general numbers going.
They reached out to me today and need numbers and general time frame.
I'm thinking something a few weeks out... like Sat, Sept 21 or Sept 28? Would be early afternoonish.
With my 100g system I'm starting to get some SPS onboard. As a zoa guy for the past few years I've had minimum 10-20x flow in my tanks.
I'm aware that with SPS I should kick that turnover up to 50-60x.
Here's what I have:
2 Tunze 6040 Turbelles, one on each side, each at 1,100gph
2 500gph...
Matt puts montis in a dark little nutrient starved tank.
Then he yells un-encouraging things at them and pokes them with sticks.
He's sick.
You should give it to me.
Saw Mark a couple of weeks back.
The rockwork is covered with coral, big colonies, nice stuff.
He and Hockeynut (carpenter extraordinaire) built that stand, beautiful, and its easily a $2,000+ piece of furniture on its own.
If I had space I'd be all over this.
So, don't know if many have seen this yet...
Scientists at an aquarium just figured out how to save Florida's 'Great Barrier Reef'
I was in Point (Pleasant) today and noticed that the aquarium is promoting a special tour for coral enthusiasts which give some background on whats going on with...
SHIRT ORDER UPDATE
There was a bit of a delay in finalizing the order, and in that course of time, the printer had picked up and begun a large order thats going to be running for a few day.
As such, we will not have the shirts ready for the ACC Bash next weekend.
I should have them, if all...
In a 40b that section is fine for a fuge with cheato. I've grown it in a 4" wide section of a previous 40b tank and had to cut it back every week.
Just make sure you've got a good light directly over the top.
