Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
So, with an offer I couldn't refuse, followed by more offers I couldn't refuse, here's the team (so far)...
120g (vinegar bathing)
Jecod 6000 DC return with controller
12g Frag tank
3 Kessil a360w with Apex link
Coral Box D500 DC with controller
Custom 302 Aquatics sump (47g)...
Cool, thanks guys.
The ATO is going to win.
So I prep by mixing X amount of calcium carbonate (hydrated lime/pickling lime) in 5g.
Let sit for a day or two.
Skim off top layer.
Empty clear fluid into ATO.
Monitor
Adjust CaCl 'top up' concentration as needed.
Sound right?
Oh, and check...
Hey folks.
With new big tank and my general laziness I’m looking to dose as cheaply and with as little equipment and effort as possible.
Initial thoughts were a doser and ESV or the Seachem 2part then I came across a post from 2012 from some guy named Red Fish Blue Fish, which led me down the...
Wish I knew before Saturday :)
These things seem crazy priced (not from you, just in general) and honestly most of them look like ^&%$.
I may be considering a DIY build.
Are they the goosenecks or the rigid?
Hijacking my thread back :)
Title change as secured a few lights.
Looking for a Kessil A series controller.
Also any mounting options for 3 A360s (I'm not too hot on the goosenecks).
So, no help on the horizon, and don't want to get into a whole 'learn a new thing and spend lots of money' situation.
Research indicated I needed at least 20 watts of mixed red 660 and blue 420-440 LEDs, plus new fans which would ultimately lead to overspending, frustration, and overengineering...
If you throw the tang into a 10g it'll stress it (and the other fish) more.
More stress = decreased immunity = more ich.
Saying that, don't panic or stress, it is what it is. Going crazy will stress the fish more.
If you don't have large tanks for transfer and treatment, and don't have a QT big...
Picked up a sump with a scrubber and there's rust on the fan/heatsink and half the LED diodes are burned out. It's from 302 Aquatics, which is no more.
Going to spec the fans and LEDs and order them (and all the other solutions the LEDs need), just have no idea how to put this stuff together...
Think this thing needs to be re-plumbed as opposed to chasing the leak. Probably going to save a ton of frustration and money by just pulling the pieces and re-figuring.
Or you can buy a 500g tank to set the 92g and stand into.
I'm around Sat if you need a hand with anything.
Thanks, interesting read.
Oh, and at that Coocookachoo music thing this week the supermodels are making bikinis out of duct tape.
You may want to get down there.
In times of concern, outside of siliconing the ^$&% out of everything, a second option is to pick up tight tubing.
I've had a few tanks in the past with problems and I'll pick up rubber tubing 'just too small' to fit.
For example, if I have a 1" fitting that takes a 1" inside diameter tube (so...
MHO.
That ammonia still looks a .15 and that nitrate is still high in relation to ammonia.
Your ammonia (high) is still being converted to nitrItes (look good, the conversion is going well here so you have enough bacteria working), which is then being converted to nitrAtes (high) which dissolve...
