Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
What about my encrusting monti's and LPS? Can I transfer them without worrying about redbugs? I don't plan on going heavy on the rock so new rock doesn't bother me I just don't want to have to trash corals and critters just so I don't get redbugs.
I don't think redbugs will be a problem as all the acro's in the qt tank look terrible. Do you think I could get away with some of the rock in my current tank as it has some zoa's on them and another has 2 feather dusters in them?
My problem is I'm putting the 75 in the spot the 42 is in now. If I start from scratch it will take another 2 months before I can do anything. Also the wife is not allowing another tank at this time. :( Maybe I can talk her into a temp one until I get the 75 up and running.
I plan on setting up my 75 this weekend but I have a couple of concerns. If half the water is new will it cycle? Also if I add new sand will that cause a cycle? What I want to do is transfer everything from my 42 to the 75 in one swoop and just add additional sand and water.
Not much of a project, but I figured I'd do an extra water change and redip the corals in QT. After that I sat as stared at the tank thinking how PO'd I will be if I lose everything after all I've done to treat it.
Sounds like you guys have it worst up north. I'm about 40 miles west of AC and I still have power witch is wierd because I normally lose power is someone looks at the powerlines funny.
Winds are constant and strong. Lots of rain. Lights flickered once about 2 hours ago, but we still have power. Might make a move here in a little bit. The trees are making us nervous.
Wont let me see the thread. I just get

Also had another thought. I pulled all my Monti's out but now I'm reading that redbugs aren't a monti pest. So I might just redip them and put them back into the display.
Well I woke up to a wash out today.

The only thing I can figure is that the PO4 is 1/4 of what the tank was. Other than that I have no clue.
Yeah I figured that, but I'm waiting a month and going to dip the corals once a week for 4 weeks before putting them back in. I figured they can stay in QT until I set up my 75 and make sure it doesn't do a mini cycle and stress the corals even more.
Sounds good. Also found the post that states that without acro's redbugs will die out in the DT in about a week.

I'm actually in the middle of doing this now. As far as treating the DT I read (forget where trying to find it)that if it goes SPS free for awhile they will die off as there is nothing for them to feed on. Am I wrong. Should I treat the tank ontop of dipping and QTing them. I would think that...
