    So there is your answer; The salt mixes at 7.5 If you want higher Alk maybe use a salt mix that has the Alk level you're shooting for.

    As long as its consistent I wouldn't worry. Water changes will help as Foxchase stated. That being said I dose 5ml weekly using ESV 2 part and my Alk sits around 8/9. Monthly WC of about 10g.

    As the wife was rearranging furniture she needed something for a corner. I immediately said another tank. Good news - I did not sleep in the doghouse. Bad news - No more tanks :(

    So I did use the correct amount 5ml. I used the tall API tube 1st which may have distorted the color. Today used an old Tetra tube, the square one. The color was darker. Think I need a new PH kit since the original RedSea test tube is lost.
