When the transfer was done.
When the livestock was moved.
When all was settled.
I took the old reliable tank.
I emptied it of the remaining water.
I didn't want to leave any invert behind.
So I sifted through the sand I began playing the old reefer's game...
'Is this alive? Where the H#&& did it...
Setting up a vendor group order now in an interesting format, keep eyes open early next week.
Have a few sale items myself I'll post, including a RO skimmer, Maxspect light, AI light, and an IM tank/stand combo.
Hopefully the frag had an EMT crew on it.
I just shifted a tank today, finished an hour ago, have done 2 antibacterial soap washings and a vinegar bath before i touched my kids.
mmm... pic does not match up with the story at any point, these guys are at an overgrown storage facility, and they look far from panicked while stopped for pic.
Fun story though. :)
Just drilled a 40b and have an assortment of glass bits in Brick if either of you guys need to borrow.
If you order bits don't make the Mark_C rookie mistake - a 1" bulkhead will not fit through a hole drilled by a 1" bit, the bit needs to be 1 1/4" to 1 3/8" to accomodate bulkhead threads
So, what I'm gathering as consensus is...
One more question -
On the return line, top left, which will be glued...
The fit is pretty tight. Anyone 'glued' this with silicone?
FYI I'm using a low turnover pump, maybe 400gph.
Thanks again all.
So I'm hard plumbing my first tank.
I have two 1" downpipes (one is an emergency overflow) to the sump, and one 3/4" return.
When you guys plumb this PVC into the bulkheads do you just silicone it and push it in tight, or do you use PVC cement and make a hard seal between the PVC pipe and...
Ha! Interested? Always.
BUT currently on a rebuild and will be offering a 25g myself in the next few weeks.
If the demand is so low, as it seems to be, I may just keep it and run it as a frag tank.
Eric,
I sincerely apologize, but an emergency has come up and I'm not able to make it. Was really looking forward to this. If I can make it there before end of day I'll do my damndest.
Mark
Kai,
I just drilled (first time) a 40b for a 2" overflow and 3/4" return.
Most overflow kits will have a glass bit in them (Glassholes, Eshopps)
Get your bulkheads for returns first and measure them. My 3/4" return actually required a 1 1/4" hole.
I bought off Amazon, specifically these, which...
My 2000 Wrangler, 'Solo's Bane', custom driveway paint job, straight 6, a 'downgraded' ax-15 transmission we had to jam in there, and 4:10 rear axle. Starting to use this a bit more so going to swap out axle for something more reasonable. The 4:10 can pull a house up a mountain, but I can be in...
