Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

I am going to try to collect some water before this surgery but I am not sure I can find the time. My elevator is going in next week, my wife has a bunch of doctors appointments and I want to exfoliate. I collect right near here but am very busy. I only changed some water once and my...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Yesterday my good friend gave me 2 dragon faced pipefish. (OK, my very Best friend, He reads this thread and I don't want to dent his feelings) I have had them before and really love them because they look kind of like me. (Hello Andy) But they are much bigger than any dragon pipefish that I...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

That is my very cool surface skimmer. The pump feeds water to my skimmer. I no longer use it but I need to build another one. I don't like those silly comb things people use for surface skimmers because my pipefish would go in there and they don't skim well. This thing just skimmer the very...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

It is quite common but many people don't see it because their fish never spawn. Pipefish like all fish should be constantly pregnant. Pipefish and seahorses don't quite have this reproducing thing down pat yet as many of their offspring have issues like conjoined twins that don't live very long.

Vermont was fun but cold. They have a huge fireplace there and unlimited wood. The only thing in the tiny town is a fair held in the school, I think everyone in the area from miles around goes there because it is the only thing that ever happens there. I don't think I could ever get used to...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Diana, Dragon faced pipefish need way more pods or new born shrimp them a mandarin and are not easy to keep fed long term. My tank now, after my move is loaded with pods for some reason and dragonfaces hunt all over the bottom unless they see baby shrimp in the water, then they will eat them...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

I am very happy to say that the Magic Juice that I kind of invented for my wife is still working much better than medication and has no side effects. With MS she used to have terrible pains all over mostly at night. Those pains come from inflammation and the juice which is mostly made from...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Here is me speaking at that Veterans talk. The guy in the foreground, Phil Keith, wrote the book about Fire Support Base Illingworth. The battle I was in and why they asked me to speak. He was in the Air Force and was shot down and had a bullet go right through his chest. He received a Silver...

Clams, The Best Food for your Reef

If you want to give them a variety, (that they don't need by the way). You can use clams, oysters, mussels and fish eggs.

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

This week I added a purple dottyback, Coral croucher gobi, queen anthius, yellow wrasse and female mandarin. I only want one more fish, a dragon faced pipefish then my tank will be at capacity. It's actually over capacity now but almost all my fish are very small and that yellow wrasse will...

Clams, The Best Food for your Reef

Looks delicious, I had that for dinner last night. But if you left out the scallops and shrimp, it would be a much more nutritious food. Those table shrimp are only the muscle as are the scallops and have little nutrition for fish. The clams are really all you need. The Salmon isn't bad but...

Clams, The Best Food for your Reef

You can buy clam cubes but we don't always have to feed something from an LFS with a nice picture of an anglefish on the front. Those commercial foods are frozen to a much lower temperature than out home freezers so I would assume most of the bacteria is dead which you may like. I want living...

Clams, The Best Food for your Reef

I also found this while researching. It came from "The Paleo Diet" which is probably not the most scientific of research organizations but I am pretty sure the list of nutrients was devised by some Government source. (or PeeWee Hermans diary) Of course these values are for people. "The Paleo...

I am sure mussels are also very good but I don't have any nutrition facts on them. They are also much cheaper than clams as many people don't like to eat them. I eat them but prefer clams or oysters

Clams, The Best Food for your Reef

Clams, the absolute best food for salt water fish The title says it all. If I could only feed one type of food, it would be regular, common, cheap, (near the coasts of the US) available, clams. I myself feed clams almost every day to all my fish and have been since the 60s. Virtually all the...
