Trust me, I understand where you’re coming from. I was in Australia for three weeks and New Zealand for a week. I snorkeled and scuba dived all over. I saw the heartbreaking amount of dead corals, which was later explained from the increased ocean temperatures along with increases in population...
I’ve caught fish in New Jersey, 8 miles out that were tagged in Costa Rica and the only way they’re getting up here is following the current and following the food and the food follows the nutrient rich water I’m not saying go to the bay in Ocean City and fill up a 5 gallon bucket and dump it in...
I’m not sure how much you know about offshore fishing but water quality and nutrients is the make or break of catching fish. 80 miles out is the Hudson canyon along with 15 other canyons where the water drops from 350 feet to 9000 feet in the course of a quarter mile. The gulf stream runs these...
Not with four stroke outboard motors, the pollutants and exhaust comes out above water. That’s why they no longer make two-stroke outboard boat motors.
I’m thinking when my offshore tuna fishing season starts, I’m gonna start bringing buckets and collecting the water 80 miles out and see what happens when I add that really rich clean water
Yeah mine are advertised as 100 watts a piece at full capacity I have my fluke world multimeter from work hooked up to the lights. They’re drawing currently 62 W each with new settings and cost $90 with a mount I think the hydra 32 goes for $430 with no mount. I started off with one and I did...

Yeah, I never thought I would need one and I expected the Amazon lights to not have a output like they do but it’s unbelievable how quick the corals let you know how much better the lighting is
I’ll tell you what one thing everybody should have in their arsenal is a Par meter.
i’m currently running two Amazon ultraslim cheap $90 lights on my 40 gallon breeder. Just had it set to mix reef setting.

Yeah, I normally just turn my wave makers off and target feed and leave the skimmer going but I’ve noticed after I feed the corals a couple hours later the skimmer really amps up it’s collection
