Was just an an open house on Hickory in Mt. Arlington and there was a reef tank setup there. If you are on here, looked great! Very clean! Nice house too!
A bunch of years back the company that delivered my 180 into my basement made it look effortless using big suction cups to use to lift and carry the tank. Does anyone have some or know where I can get/rent them?
I borrowed some from a friend once but they were too weak.
Need to get this tank...
Who here is having success keeping SPS using LED lights? I'm thinking about setting up a dedicated SPS grow out tank and was thinking 250W 14K MH's, but would love to save on electric. I want good quick growth while keeping colors vibrant.
Is anyone here having success with LED's? If so...
Has anyone else seen this build over on R2R? Amazing build and the SPS this guy has is STUNNING!!
AV99's custom 600g Reef Savvy on site build-Lots of pictures
I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to get a group consensus.
I think it is getting close to me getting back in the game with my 180. I have a fully finished basement with cheap carpet (the house flippers installed it). Should I just place the tank on top of the carpet or should I...
With the recent heart crushing event that Sunny had to endure as well as my experience with two tanks of my own having seams fail...what does everyone think is behind the failure of tank seams? Is it just that saltwater is so corrosive that it kills the silicone over time? Are manufacturers...
It's been a long time since I had a programmable light. Just bought an AquaMaxx Nemolight. It is programmable for sunrise, daylight, sunset and moonlights.
What does everyone use for their photosynthesis (daylight) period? My current light is set for 10 hours. How about everyone else?
As the subject says....Are EcoTech MP40's still the way to go? I've started my research on equipment to set my 180 back up, but being out of the game for a while, I haven't kept up on the equipment that is available now. I always ran 2 MP40's. Thinking about getting the upgraded MP40QD's...
I am getting ready to move my 180 to my new house and start the process of setting it up again. The tank was brand new and has just been sitting since August of 2012. It has never seen water.
Do I need to worry about the seals or anything since it has just been sitting?
I have the Innovative Marine Nuvo Fusion 10. I am having issues with algae on my rock work and red slime. I treat every two months with red slime remover and that takes care of it for the two months, but it always comes back.
I'm trying to decided whether to run the Innovative Marine MiniMax...
My grandfather has two Navy Ribbons without the medals (don't know where the medals are). His DD-214 says he was awarded two medals, the American Theatre Medal and the Victory Medal. The ribbon on the left is the WWII Victory Ribbon. The one on the right through google searching I have found is...
After seeing the thread started by @Mark_C on how his SPS started dying with increased tank temps....it got me thinking.
I have seen many reefers have this issue when their tanks reach temps 80-84 degrees, but is it different then in nature? It seems that once our tanks reach anything over 80...
In all the years i have been doing this...I have never seen anything lile this.
I'm in the middle of a water change. I mixed up the new water just like I always do...I emptied the tank and when I walked back over to the bucket of new water it has white speks floating on the surface of the water...
