I have the neptune gro as well and i have it about 1 inch from the water. It's low powered so it needs to be real close to the water to work as designed. She can get splashed with water with no issues. I would suggest if possible to try moving the gro down closer to the water level and see if...

Thanks! I was going to repurpose my current sump but I decided to spoil myself and start fresh. It'll make the transfer that much easier having the sump plumbed in place.

I'm considering running 2 smaller return pumps rather than 1 large pump. I'm thinking I can run 1 dedicated through my uv sterilizer that I can adjust flow depending on my needs for the uv. Then the 2nd pump I'll run a manifold off of for if I decide to add any other equipment. Also considering...

Yes that's what I use now as well. I change it every weekend on water change day. Much easier and quicker than dealing with cleaning socks.

Glad to hear they're doing well. The 180 was just too big for me, I found a 120 that I started a build thread for. So far turning into a nice upgrade.

Sump has arrived and it appears to be in perfect condition (sold as grade A open box from brs). More importantly it fits under the stand with plenty of room for my dosing equipment and such.
