Wanted to know if someone can identify this coral?
Soft and wavy. May be some type of gorgo, but I have never seen this type.
Looks brown in pics, but is really more pink.
Everyone seems to have some favorites or ones they avoid. I am interested in some of the favorites out there, and why they like them.
If there is any additional useful information it would be great to add that in e.g. "reef safe"
I have a Koralia 2 powerhead that is generating some noise. I figured my options are to either get a new powerhead.
I think the Koralia's are ugly, but I am not willing to spend the coin on a Vor Tech.
Or I was considering increasing the size of my return pump, which feeds a locline fittings...
I bought an Acan on July 3rd, and up until 3-4 days ago it was looking great. It was very inflated, and the tentacles were out.
3-4 days back it shrunk down where you can now see the space between the polyps and has yet to recover.
I had it at the bottom of the tank until last night, and now I...
Frankly, I am not sure what exactly it is doing/supposed to be doing.
If this product did all that it was advertised to do, why wouldn't people just regularly dose their tank with it to take care of any nitrate problems they may have and forget about all of the skimming, filtering, etc...
I...
I have tried superglue gel (corals) and AquaStik Underwater Epoxy (rock) so far.
My experience with AquaStik Underwater Epoxy is that it is not good for curing under water despite its claims.
I have not tried a dry application yet.
I have had more success with super glue gel, but it often...
I have read that some zoos like a lot of light and a lot of flow, and others prefer the opposite...and every variation in between.
Are there any good guidelines on Zoos or is it simply trial and error.
I have been using crystal sea salt at the recommendation of my LFS. The tank has been generally stable, so I am conflicted on changing.
One the one hand, I have the, if it ain't broke....mindset
On the other hand, I have been reading some pretty disturbing info on crystal sea, which makes me...
I am curious what media people are using in their phosban reactors. Clearly the obvious one would be Phosban, but I am curious if that is what most are using.
One product I was considering was chemi-pure elite.
I am interested to know how frequently others have to clean the green film algae off their glass?
I typically have some on the glass every day (not overwhelming amounts).
Are there ways to reduce the frequency of formation? Should I want to, or should I consider this part of the overall food...
I have some interest in getting a Coco worm. I wanted to know if others have had success keeping these.
I would also consider a feather duster, but the Coco worm appears to generally be more colorful.
I have several Zoo frags in my tank. The oldest frag is doing really well.
The three newest frags are having mixed results. I have only had them a week.
One is open most of the day, One is opening and closing throughout the day (mostly closed)
The last one had been mostly closed for the...
I have a finger leather, and it currently looks like it was covered with a clear coat of paint.
Can someone tell me what causes this? What is it a sign of?
Can anyone tell me if they have any real world experience using a reactor vs. a media bag for phosphate control, or any other type of control for that matter.
Basically, are reactors worth the extra $ and effort?
It has been 6 months since I purchased my tank off of CL, and so far I am pleased with the progess. The tank was not in good shape when I received it (algae everywhere), so it has come a long way since then.
Here is a rundown on my tank:
Cube: 2’ X 2’ X 2’ open top.
Total Gallons: 60 approx...
I am curious how may people swap out the reflectors on their lights as a means to get more out of their lights?
I imagine the value in doing this, depends on what light you currently have, and how good/bad the current reflector is.
I have been to probably 12 different LFS over the past 6 months and it always makes me nervous to buy from them when they do not seem to make any efforts to maintain their tanks.
I went to one high priced LFS and they had bubble algae all over their corals. It was so bad, while I was looking at...
