    sand cleaning help

As far as the putting it back goes. When I added sand to my tank when it was already established, I used a cake icing bag and cut the hole at the bottom a little larger. I used a clip to close off the hole, and then unclipped once i had the bag where I wanted it. This helped prevent a sand...

When all is going well with our tanks, why can't we just leave well enough alone

Because it is fun, exciting, etc... Some of my family members have asked, when will you be done....and I promptly tell them never!! Changing things are what makes the hobby fun and interesting. I am not talking about irresponsible changes for those who are ready to blast away.

    Are Aquariums getting too lifelike?

In my opinion, balance is the key to most things in life. I am very much against the over harvest of ocean life, and the detriment of the natural environment. However, I also believe it is hobbies such as ours that bring attention to the importance of maintaining our environment. So I do not...

    Carbon Metals

Thanks Boomer. Have been reading on some forms of carbon that have diamagnetic properties. Do not know what to make of it. I suspect the carbon I have, has some traces of Iron in it. BTW no impacts on anything in my tank has been seen, just thought it interesting...

    Curing Marco Rock

I guess the reason for the question is, it is not live rock. It is dead rock.

    Curing Marco Rock

Do you need to cure the rock in salt water, or can you just put the rock in fresh water and let any debris etc come out? I guess I do not see the purpose of using salt water since you are not trying to keep anything alive.

What is this stuff growing on my rocks?

FWIW - I get these as well. My tang picks at them. I see it as the diversity of life in my tank, and have not worried about it.

    Shrimp compatability

I am not speaking from experience, but I would think they would be ok together based on what I have read. Especially in a large tank.

Avatar - who has seen it?

Was there supposed to be a racial message....i thought the story was supposed to essentially be a futuristic settlers vs. native americans...shameful greed over morality message. Oh...and I thought it was great.....I was thinking going in that it would be a great special effects movie...and IMO...
