    Carbon Metals

Have you ever taken a magnet over your carbon? Does it stick? I recently tested two brands of carbon I have based on a thread in a different forum. One of the two carbon brands stuck to the magnet. Only about 10% stuck, but it still raised my eyebrows. Should our aquarium carbon have metal...

I need red bugs to prove a point

Okay, so I realized tonight I have red bugs. So I am willing to give this method a try. Can you please give me the details. Was each dose a full strength dose. So given I have a 60 gallon tank, I should order two 5 gram packages to cover a full four doses with some left over?

    Flatworm and Snails

Ok that makes sense. I knew mandarin's ate pods, but I did not realize the flatworms were also competing for pods.

    Flatworm and Snails

Well I guess I may try the FW dip - I was concerned the lps would not like this. I do have a mandarin, but he is not eating the ones on the frogspawn, and unknown if he is eating any others. I had thought there was a concern of dosing a tank that had too many flatworms which is why I thought...

    Flatworm and Snails

Ok so have a question on flatworm exit. Most of the flatworms appear to be on my frogspawn. I was considering taking my frogspawn out of the tank and not dosing my DT first. Minimizing risks of toxin release. One frogspawn was dosed and back in tank, dose the DT maybe a couple of days later...

    Help with MH lighting fixture

While I tend to agree with the others, I would also mention MH lights are not the typical for a shroom and polyp tank. If there are thoughts that you may want to move past shrooms and polyps, that is different. Placement is going to be part of this equation.

LED lights... Is this worth it?

Personally, I would say the comparison between the two is more like Gala apples to Red Delicious apples. Still an apple, just a different flavor. At the end of the day, you are looking for PAR for your coral. Taking readings around the tank plays into that comparison. Additionally, one unit...

    Dave's 60 Gallon Cube

Thanks Tanks. I am an example of what everyone says not to do. I have my media in bags and they are just hanging on the overflow tines. My system is not drilled, has no sump, uses tap water, no skimmer...... and yet, I am able to keep SPS, LPS, etc. I do put thought into inverts etc..in an...
