Using refractometer solution 35 for both. Was told I could.
Not sure actually Matt. I'll have to read into that. I know they say bubbles will cause a reading to be off but my sump barely has any bubbles instead of in the socks
Well that's the thing, I'm getting 2 different results. I calibrated the probe twice to make sure. My probe is giving me 1.023 and my refractometer is giving me 1.025 so I'm not sure which to trust.
2 quick questions guys.
1. Which would you rely on more, salinity probe or refractometer?
2. I need to bring my salinity up, right now its around 1.023. Should I add some mixed water to my ATO and let it rise that way or just raise it with water changes?
Well a few of my macros are taking off! Pretty sweet. I am getting some brown film algae on the sand. I'll have to vacuum that out next water change although it doesn't looking like its stunting any of their growth :)
Yeah its not horrible, I just don't want it to get outta control. I'm working 12hr shifts all week so I'll just let my turbos go to town. Hopefully they'll help. I think I need more than 5 in my tank tho lol
Anyone know anything about dosing Hydrogen Peroxide? My rocks r starting to get fuzzy and I have a few lil bubbles here n there (might be dinos but not enough to really tell). I heard dosing HP helps out with this stuff. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Should I just let it run its...
Starting to get a lot of debris in the water column. Not sure if its from the turbos dusting up everything. I replaced my socks a couple days ago so I can't imagine its them not picking it up. Normally I'd replace them ever 2-3 days but there's nothing really in the tank so they take forever to...
I think over the next week or so I'm gonna pick up a few chromis and see how they do. The turbo snails I bought are doing well. Cleaning a lot. I also got 5 trouches snails to help with cleaning. So far everything is good
I hear ya. I'm talking to a guy right now on FB that use to have a pair of them in his 150 for a couple years. Says he had no problem with them regarding other fish and whatnot
I would love to, but they're not Reef safe at all I don't believe and I know I'm gonna go back to having corals eventually lol plus won't it eat little fish?
I love these guys! They are reef safe with caution tho. Says they like to munch on snails and inverts which I don't even have a sand bed so I don't think I'll have many of them
I love the Orange tang too. I used to have one but it was short lived, he died from internal parasites :( he was beautiful tho. Very bright orange stripe.
Ya know? I've always wanted one but I think my tank is a little too small lol
Starting to look at livestock options. Scrolling through Liveaquaria, here's what I like(not all of them, just listing the ones I like)
Orange Shoulder Tang
Hippo Tang
Powder Blue Tang
Trio of Lyretail Anthias(MFF)
Redhead Solon Wrasse(not sure if it needs sand or not)
Elibi Red Stripe Angel...
