If you mount them flat, their capacity is much less but it will support the weight much better.

I understand it clips to the lip of your sump - the question is how much additional height does the Clarisea occupy? I am building a custom stand and want to make sure I provide enough clearance to be able to do maintenance on the sump - thx in advance. Eric
