I just ordered 14 led panels from eBay http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=301261603206&alt=web. I ordered the uv 395nm spectrum to replace their 410 nm uv spectrum and I also am doing a mod to replace the manual dimmers with controllers so they will be controlled through an apex.
You can take the reef breeders pull out a few of the royal blues which are 410nm and replace them with true UV spectrum 38 nm it's a quick solder job. 4 in a panel with 120° lenses instead of the 90° and the leds are cheap http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=111420538770
It's normal the first couple hours with brand new socks. Once they get a good coating in them they will be fine. And then when I cleaned mine I did it with hot water with a little bleach, a second rinse and then air dry. Be sure to run your machine one time in a hot rinse cycle to make sure...
I used the 7 shaped drain. In the herbie method he used an upside down U the water lever was half way up the U but the open in was completely submerged. And I was using the air line to fine tune it.
Forgot to mention, in the drain with the valve in the upper end that has the horseshoe in the top of the U I put a threaded 1/4" valve (for ro line) to adjust the amount of air it drew in for the syphon also helped any slurping or water fluctuations
I actually used it in an old tank I had. I had dual overflows and I took out the return and made that the emergency. Put an oversized valve 1.5" on the 1" drain so it wouldn't restrict flow unless I wanted to with the valve. Then I closed it slightly until the water just started to seep down the...
I have never seen one that actually looked like that. And don't get me wrong some were very nice. But none actually had the orange with the blue coralite center. For the price they were asking if I got a browned out coral I'd take a drive to Canada myself. Lol
Run a wet bead of glue around the new seams to ensure the seal. I've never had them leak but anytime I had fittings slide together really loose or if they pushed apart while drying I would always run another bead across the seams when it cured just to be sure.
