The stand was redelivered yesterday with spot on dimensions and I am still amazed at the size and weight of this thing!!!!! The glass has arrived at the builders shop and they will begin building the tank tomorrow. I am hopeful they will send me some pictures by the end of the week.
So I...
The owner of the shop was away for two weeks while this was being built. His guess as well as mine is that they measured the front and back spans out at 72" and then put the 2" tube on the end of that. Its definetely something that I would do as a novice. He apologized several times about it...
Good news and bad news.......
The good news is the stand was delivered today.......This thing is built like a tank (no pun intended :)) The guy laughed at me when I told him to just leave it in my driveway and would carry it into the basement later when I got home from work. I didnt realize...
Tank transition #1 complete
So I moved everything over from my current dt to the frag tank that will act as my transition tank until the new tank is ready to go and the basement is being remodeled. I started at 8pm and just wrapped up at 1am but not completely done. Still need to hook dosing...
My concern is both low ph and humidity. My sump is already in the basement and I have struggled with low ph during the winter and summer. With the renovation of my basement, the fish room will be 24x9 and house over 400 gallons of water between the dt, frag, sump and make up tanks. I'm...

My basement is already sealed up pretty well already which has caused low ph issues for me. My basement is about to get remodeled which will include the creation of a fish room for my new 315g dt and 80g frag. I have been reading about fresh air systems and wanted to see if anyone in the area...
since this is ultimately going to be my frag tank I didn't want to move any sand. I was concerned more about a biological need to move it. My sump/fuge has sand in there so hopefully between the rock and the sand in there I should be ok. I really hated the I sand I used for this...
Picked up the new transition/frag tank last night from Trop.....
Getting one step closer....last night I picked up the DeepBlue Professional 80 gallon frag tank. My plan is to move everything from current set up into this tank and then when the new tank is ready move everything again leaving...
Too funny on both comments.....I've been reading that thread already and have posted a few questions there. Seems like lanthanum chloride or seaklear coupled with patience when cooking the rocks is the answer. Fortunately I'm still about 4-6 weeks away from having the tank ready. So I will...
