No manifold, 1 pump to the return. I did this to keep a stable herbie return. It's incredible how quiet this return method is, I have about 900 gph flowing and no sound at all at the DT.
Paul - yes the sight of the auto feeder on the tank. What you wrote was what I was thinking. I guess there is a remote chance that the pump can get choked up, but I have a iwaki 55, and there are far bigger things which sometimes get through the sump.
I guess it comes down to how much one...
ah, good point. I was thinking the pellets are so small it wouldn't really matter. I guess I'm back to the auto feeder sitting on top of the tank.
Maybe after I'm up and running I'll build a dedicated delivery system with a cheap pump to the DT.
I've been successfully used an auto feeder on my 45 for many years, but never really liked the sight of it sitting on top of the tank. I was wondering if anyone has tried feeding into the return area of the sump and having the return pump supply the food to the DT? I realize that some of the...
I started my cycle Feb 16th so with that going, I was able set up a QT tank and I took a trip to AP last weekend. I picked up a fish I always wanted:
The fish is doing well, eating and swimming around so I started to reduce the water salinity yesterday to to do a hypo treatment on it and...
Wait till both Ammonia and Nitrite are zero, then do a water change as your nitrate will be high, then add fish or ghost feed. I just did a fish and shrimp less cycle with Dr. Tims. His directions are to do one more test to make sure ammonia/nitrite can be process within 24 hours, but I guess...
Thats a great plan. If you run a siphon drain, you'll be getting a lot of exercise going up and down the stairs to adjust it. Its the only negative on the set up. I had my first self induced water accident last night and I didn't really worry about ruining the flooring, just got some rags and...
Due to logistical complications, I still have the 2 bags available. Same price $38 each bag, pick up in Summit. I will not hold for pick up, so first to confirm and pick up gets it. I'll be around most of Sat and Sunday.
When I dryscape, I try to think of what it will look like in the future. What will go on it, what will it look like when it grows out. What are the plans for the pillar? Not a lot of shelf space for a frag and if a plate type coral grows on it, it might become unstable. If your planning to...
Seems as BRS has been hacked and cc info stolen. There are posts on RC about it. Keep an eye on your cc activity if you have shopped with them these past few months.
I can't speak of long term reliable, but I had the same problem. I went with 2 of the Finnex Electronic Controller Aquarium Heater w/Titanium Tube 300w. Decent reviews on Amazon and it was short. I would use a controller for any heater.
have you tried the mesh (not felt) socks? Much more...
Thanks, although right after I posted this, a square fell off. I used JB Weld on it, I'm thinking I have some oil on the acrylic. I'll have to sand it down and try again.
