    Dan's 150 Rebuild

If the siphon breaks and water isn't going down to the sump, wont the return pump overload the display?

But wont any reduction in drain flow cause the DT to over flow from the return. Seems like a snail or anything reducing drainage and its flood city without a backup reserve.

What happen if one of the one inch lines clog before the 2 inch? Wont his return pump flood the display? A full siphon moves a lot of water and an emergency lets you sleep...:)

    Dan's 150 Rebuild

If you have two one inch drains, run one full siphon (underwater in the overflow about half way up), and the other dry just above the water line. They say the full siphons are very quiet and get great flow. aka Herbie The setup you have will eventually flood, just a matter of time.

Thanks...I like the fact the plug is built in the switch. I haven't seen that one before.

Problem is, if that one inch gets even partial blocked you will have a flood.

I like the Herbie system....one a full siphon and one a completely dry emergency. I don't want any over flows,

This one seems perfect for my needs. Where I live in Jackson I lose power about one to two times a year. Sandy the worst (3 days), once for 24 ours on a Labor day. And many 1-3 hours losses. So Jim, since you are using the same transfer switch, no problem connecting to the L14-30 or L14-20...

I'm looking to setup my power backup before setting up the DT. I decided on this transfer switch: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HS2L3O/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER I will now need to get a gas generator in the 7500 watt range. The reviews are all over the...

In my research reading, (mostly RC), it seems most people start their lights at around 50% and the adjust accordingly to how the corals react.

Spent a few hours the last couple of days and buffed out the sump and added the baffles. Due to the inner panel of the tank having a bow, the baffles didn't come out as nice as I would of liked, but should be functional. Will leak test it tomorrow. Had to use Weldon 16 for sure.
